drawings
Two prominent elements in my drawings are gestural line and circular or sphere forms. Both, came into it organically through a series of unplanned circumstances.
Sustained inclusion is a purposeful choice.
Various sizes of gestural lines sweep through the drawings either interrupting space or encompassing three-dimensional sphere forms. They create movement within my own body as I am in the process.
They offer an invitation to the viewer to join me this somatic sensation.
The circle is a universal symbol with a long history and pertinent meaning. From the Stone Age to advanced societies, it has evoked feelings of calm and completeness, while representing the notions of totality, wholeness, original perfection, the Self, the infinite, eternity and timelessness.
Together these design elements provide a pure channel to body awareness.
